Honda Unveils Revolutionary "Honda 0" EV Series and Futuristic Concepts

Honda Launches Pioneering “Honda 0” Electric Vehicle Series

In a groundbreaking move, Honda has introduced its new global electric vehicle (EV) series, the “Honda 0.” This announcement was accompanied by unveiling two innovative concept models, marking a significant shift in the company’s approach to electric mobility.

Toshihiro Mibe, Honda’s Global CEO, emphasized the departure from conventional EV designs, stating, “We are steering away from the ‘thick, heavy, but smart’ EV trend. Our vision with the Honda 0 EV series is to redefine electric mobility, focusing on a ‘thin, light, and wise’ foundation to elevate the joy and freedom of movement.”

The Saloon, the flagship of the Honda 0 Series, boasts a unique EV platform. It embodies Honda's "man maximum, machine minimum" philosophy, featuring a low, wide exterior and a surprisingly roomy interior. Sustainability is critical, with eco-friendly materials used throughout.

Introducing Saloon and Space-Hub: Honda’s Concept Models

The two concept models, the Saloon and Space-Hub, were showcased at CES Innovation Awards 2024. These models are the first to employ Honda’s novel design and engineering approach, specifically tailored for the Honda 0 Series.

Shinji Aoyama, Honda’s Global EVP, explained, “The Honda 0 Series is a back-to-basics, era-defining design. Its bold, pure proportions stand out, offering a fresh perspective on EVs.”

Honda 0 Series: A New Electric Dawn

The Honda 0 Series is not just a new product line; it’s a complete reimagining of EV development. Adhering to the principles of “Thin, Light, and Wise,” the series aims to overcome traditional EV limitations while maintaining Honda’s core engineering values. The series will bring new design, automated driving, connectivity, performance, and battery efficiency innovations.

Artistic Design and Advanced Technology

The Honda 0 Series models will exhibit “The Art of Resonance” design philosophy, blending environmental consciousness with emotional design. Advanced driver-assistive systems (ADAS) and future automated driving features will be integrated based on Honda’s human-centric safety concept.
