Jermo Koehnke, Sennheiser’s Audiophile Product Manager, emphasized the community’s demand for a headphone that combines the renowned qualities of the 600 series with enhanced isolation capabilities.

“The HD 620S not only meets these expectations but exceeds them with its immersive imaging and brilliant impulse response, ensuring superior performance in every listening scenario,” Koehnke stated.

Core Features and Sound Quality

Sennheiser HD 620S Headphones

At the core of the HD 620S is a sophisticated 42mm dynamic transducer, engineered and produced in Sennheiser’s state-of-the-art facility in Tullamore, Ireland. This transducer extends the velvety and effortless audio characteristics typical of the open-back models in the 600 series, but with a modern and airy sound signature that seamlessly melds clarity with deep, articulate bass.

The high damping factor of the 150-ohm aluminium voice coil enables rapid transients and crisp instrumental finishes, providing rich dynamics throughout the audio spectrum. This is especially beneficial for audiophiles and gamers who crave detailed soundscapes.

Comfort and Acoustic Innovation

The HD 620S is housed in an iconic chassis, renowned for its durability and comfort, making it a favorite among audiophiles, gamers, and streamers. The metal components not only enhance tactile pleasure but also serve crucial acoustic functions. For instance, the steel plate effectively isolates and controls internal reflections, preserving the purity of sound.

Additionally, the angled baffle promotes unrestricted air movement, simulating the expansive soundstage of open-back headphones while maintaining the intimacy of a sealed design.

Isolation Without Sacrifice

Closed headphones are essential for those needing solitude to fully immerse in their audio experience. The HD 620S breaks from the typical constraints of closed headphones by offering a wide, natural soundstage, free from the constricted, boxy sound often associated with such models.

Connectivity and Durability

An optional balanced 4.4mm cable will be available, enhancing connectivity with high-fidelity devices.

The HD 620S is available for pre-order and will begin shipping on June 6, 2024. It can be purchased from selected retailers or directly through Sennheiser’s website.
